Words
This is where you'll manage all the vocabulary you learn. You can add words to your list by scrolling down to our curriculum, clicking a set (a list of related vocabulary words), and clicking "Add Set". If your language class at school uses Tongue of Fire, you can also select that class to add sets that your teacher created. Finally, to add whatever word you want: select the language and status (see below) that you want, enter the word in the box that says "Add Word", wait for our AI algorithm to give you a few translations, and select the one you like.
Please note that you can select one of four statuses for your words: To Learn, New, Familiar, and Learned. It's intended for you to add your words to To Learn because, whenever you have fewer than five words in New, words in To Learn will be automatically moved to New until you have five again. That way, you're never overwhelmed with new words. As you get acquainted with those New words on the Word Drills page, you can mark them Familiar on that page to make space for more New ones. Once you know a Familiar word by heart, you can mark it Learned. You can click a word on this page to manage its status.
Finally, you can select "Type: Conjugation" at the top of the page to manage your conjugation (covered later in the tour). This isn't necessary right now, but as you start learning new tenses, you can manage them on that part of this page along with the verbs you're learning to conjugate. Similar options may exist for characters or case if your language has those.
Go ahead and add a few words, then head over to the Word Drills page.
