AI

This is Tongue of Fire's most competitive feature: AI-generated practice and feedback. To start, choose your language at the top of the page, click the + button, choose the settings for your practice passage, and click "Generate" to have our AI algorithm generate a practice passage for you based on the words you've learned on our site. Once it's ready, you can click on any words you don't know to see their translations, then type in your attempt and click "Submit" to have the AI give you feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask them to the algorithm in the box that will appear at the bottom of the screen, and if you'd like to retry a sentence after receiving feedback, a button for that will appear when you view the feedback.

You can have multiple passages saved at once if you'd like. Just click the + button each time you want a new passage, and switch between them with the numbered buttons near the top of the screen. When you're finished with a passage, click its number and then click the trash can icon to delete it. This feature is designed to allow you to work on one passage while waiting for another to be generated or graded.

If you'd like to practice any particular concept, such as a specific word, forming questions, or a verb tense, you can make a note about that to the algorithm. Type any special requests into the "Note to algorithm" entry when you start generating a passage.

Once you get familiar with the AI features, have a look at the Conjugation page.

New feature: Revamped AI page

If you go the AI page, you'll notice that we've revamped it once again! The new page comes with the ability to have multiple passages at once so that, while our AI generates or grades one passage, you can be translating another passage instead of just having to wait. It also comes with a new and improved algorithm that's more natural in its language, less dogmatic in its corrections, better at sticking to your vocabulary, and far faster. Give it a try!
